- Professional Development Time: Ensure teachers have enough time during the school week for iQTS studies and assignments, and arrange class cover when needed for training or assessments.
- Mentorship and Guidance: You’ll need to assign an appropriate mentor to support teachers through the iQTS, offering feedback and practical advice. Mentors receive FREE certified training and CPD from Orange Moon Training throughout the programme.
- Practical Experience: Teachers need diverse classroom experiences, teaching different subjects and age groups, and observing peers. Some may also need to complete placements at other schools.
Schools that participate in the programme will receive an official certificate of collaboration, recognising their commitment to improving teaching standards.
FAQs
Do candidates need to be employed in a school?
Yes, teachers must be employed by the school with a minimum of two years of teaching experience. Applicants need to have robust knowledge, skills and understanding of their phase or subject at the appropriate age ranges in order to enrol on this course. Full eligibility criteria can be found here. Full support will be provided to ensure applicants are clear on the requirements of the iQTS Teachers' Standards.
Is the course all online?
Yes, all iQTS content is delivered online, with no travel required. Orange Moon Training have offices in Ahmedabad to support learning where required.
When does the programme start?
The iQTS Programme’s Preparatory Course begins in May 2025, with the iQTS course running from September 2025.
What support does my school need to provide?
You will need to provide a suitable mentor to support your teacher during their studies. Orange Moon Training will provide the chosen mentor with comprehensive training and FREE CPD throughout the period. Universtity mentors will also be on hand to guide teachers every step of the way. A School Support Bursary Scheme is available to provide financial help. Full eligibility for the scheme will be discussed alongside any application.
