Are you looking for a career working with children?
If you are aged 16 – 24 and passionate about developing a career working with children we can help.
Our Working with Children Academy offers free training to begin your childcare or teaching career. All fees are paid for by the Government, meaning it is free for you.
You will receive regular support from your course tutor and we make sure you have all you need when you are on placement.
A programme to suit you.
Our 10 week course first focusing on caring for children, you then chose your preferred career pathway; working in early years (with children under 5) in a nursery, as a teaching assistant in a school, or as a childminder educator (home based childcare and education).
The programme is comprised of 4 elements:
1) Working with children course, gives you an introduction to the basic principles of working with children in nurseries, schools, and as a childminder educator.
2) An exciting and high quality work placement where you get to experience key aspects of working with children. The placement is for a minimum of 70 hours in one of the following settings.
3) Maths and English if you have not already achieved GCSE grade 4/5 or equivalent. This is required to help you secure your dream job working with children.
4) Preparation for Employment. Designed to help you find your preferred job, help you succeed at interview, and how to do well in your job.

There is a £25 per week allowance to help with any costs for attending the academy. If you are on benefits, enrolling on to this programme will not affect your payments. We can liaise with your job advisor.
