Academy Programme

The Orange Moon Training Academy Programme

Orange Moon Training has developed an academy programme designed to introduce individuals to the world of working with children in childcare and education support.

We have 3 academy programmes.

  • Early Years Academy; for individuals looking for a career working with Early Years children in nurseries, pre-schools, childminders and other specialist early years professions.
  • Teaching Assistant Academy; for individuals looking for a career as a Teaching Assistant or other teaching staff support roles in a school.
  • Home Early Educator (Childminder) Academy; for individuals looking to set up a Home Early Educator service from their own home. The academy provides all the pre-registration qualifications required to enable an individual to become a registered childminder.

Two ways our Academy Programme can help you

  1. If you are an individual looking for your first job, a career change or you are a parent looking to return to work, the academy is you best first step. The academy consists of short “taster” courses to enable you to decide whether this is the right career path for you. If you have been out of education for a while then the academy is a great way to ease you back into formal academic study.
  2. If you are an employer looking to recruit to fill your vacancies. The academy provides you with a mechanism to “grow your own” by taking on a selection of academy students as volunteers in your setting then observe how they perform in your workplace. You define your own selection criteria and help shape the programme, so it meets the specific needs of your organisation.

Graduates from our short level 1 courses often progress on to our level 2 programme as volunteers, this provides you with a longer timeframe to evaluate a candidate before committing to employ. There is no obligation to employ a candidate once they have completed their course.

If you have specific vacancies to fill, we can run a fully funded academy specifically for your organisation which is designed to give candidates all the skills and knowledge required to a role in your organisation.
