Childminder Early Educators

Orange Moon Training’s sister company @Home Childcare has been supporting home based childcare practitioners including childminders and nannies since 2006 by;

  • Delivering accredited Early Years qualifications and short CPD programmes
  • Customising and contextualising accredited courses for home based practitioners
  • Helping home based settings recruit quality individuals through a “grow your own” Early Years Academy programme.
  • Organising placement opportunities to Early Years trainees
  • Delivering an approved childminder pre-registration training programme required to enable childminders to become registered practitioners
  • Providing government funded programmes to help recruit new staff and provide training to upskill existing staff and owners.

The Childminder Educator Academy Programme

We have developed a funded Early Years academy programme designed to identify potential assistants to work with Childminder Early Educators. Candidates are taken through a funded volunteer training programme. Childminders are able to select candidates to work on a volunteer basis initially, enabling them to monitor and mould potential employees over a sustained period and with no obligation to employ. This provides them with the opportunity to be sure the candidate will be a good fit before formally offering a job.

Not all candidates will be suitable for home based childcare or will want to pursue a career in Early Years, others may decide they prefer working with children in schools or children in residential care or family support roles.

Early Years apprenticeships for Childminder Educators

Apprenticeships are a great way for Childminder Early Educators to recruit new employees to work in their business as assistants of co-minders. Did you know apprenticeships can also be used to upskill yourself and other existing employees with a funded level 2 or 3 qualification.

Our accredited qualifications have been especially contextualised to meet the needs of home based childcare and education practitioners. They are also transferable if you later decide to work in other Early Years role.

We are able to help you recruit apprentices. The best way to identify potential apprentices is through our Childminder Academy Programme
