About our Educator Community
Our Ofsted registered childminder agency operates as an accredited community for professional childminders. We call childminders, home early educators (educators, for short), in recognition of their specialist role providing care and early education to children in a home setting.
We register educators and provide development support, training and quality assured regulation, all with the aim of achieving the very best quality of early education and care for children.
Together our community is like a family because we care about educators. We support you to develop your home-based business by providing mentoring, business and expert early years support.
At our recent 2020 Ofsted inspection, we were judged to be Effective in all areas. In our Ofsted report, inspectors remarked:
“Childminders praise the agency for the regular support that it offers and the reassurance this affords them in knowing they are “doing it right”.
Childminders receive support in other forms which is over and above the legal requirements. Childminders confirm they can seek ad hoc support at any time and the agency is easy to contact.
Parents are equally complimentary about the quality of the childminders’ work and the impact on their child’s development.”
As a social enterprise, we fund the support to help you set up and develop their home-based childcare service.
We operate in the following areas where we have local staff: Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Sheffield, Swindon, Bristol and Birmingham.

We give you free start-up support and training to set up a successful early education business in your own home.
Our start-up training includes funded step-by-step business planning to ensure you start as you mean to go on, with a profitable, sustainable business.
We provide marketing assistance to help you find parents looking for childcare.
You remain in charge of your business. You choose the opening hours, the children you wish to care for, the name of your business etc.
You receive a toolkit containing essentials for running your business such as policies, contract, consent forms and online software for assessing children, the 2-year-old progress check, messaging parents and lots more.
You are assigned a personal mentor whose sole purpose is to help you provide high standards of care and early education. Your mentor visits you at home and also provides telephone and email support.
You will be joining a family community of like-minded educators where you can share ideas and meetup online or at organised events.
You can build on your knowledge of child development and early years topics by accessing our regular classroom and online training.
We provide professional development such as funded nationally recognised early years qualifications.
You can have a lucrative business earning between £25k – £35k, all whilst benefiting from ‘back-office’ business support to assist with the smooth running of your business such as enrolling parents, fee collection, dealing with parents who do not pay, administering early education funding and loads more so you can focus on providing the quality care of children and growing your business.
- As we are investing in the start-up of your home-based business, we expect you to be 100% committed to giving children the best start in life by registering as an educator with us.
- Although the majority of the cost of your business start-up is funded by us, we expect you to pay for your own suitability checks and a small contribution towards the cost of the registration process.
- 100% of the pre-registration training and full completion of the business planning coursework is required.
- Be ready to register in 2 – 3 months from when we first start the process with you.
